Teacher Transition

I'm learning so much! The course is so well organized, Ali breaks everything down into easily manageable tasks. The parallels between teaching and instructional design are laid out very clearly, allowing me to see how my teaching experience is applicable to ID. I'm gaining confidence in my skills and am always excited to jump into each new lesson!

I have so many good things to say about this course! The best thing about this course is the instructor. Ali is so genuine in her mission to help teachers transition to a new field. As a teacher who has been considering careers outside the classroom for years, I can attest that Ali has been where you are and knows exactly how you feel. She has successfully transitioned beyond the classroom and she knows how to help you do the same. Ali is able to show you how what you're already doing in the classroom will easily translate to becoming an instructional designer. I highly recommend this course for anyone considering this career beyond the classroom. You will learn about the ID process, software they use, and get resume and portfolio templates and tips. All of this is well worth the investment. Even if you decide ID is not for you, the information in this course will help you be a better teacher. It will also open your eyes to other opportunities outside the classroom besides ID and help you start to recognize ways to find them! You'll also have access to questions and answer sessions with Ali and a private FB group to share resources and connect with others in the course. So, what I'm saying is, sign up now. You won't regret it.

I am so thankful for this course. I have felt that there is something greater/bigger/new that I am supposed to be doing and this program is reaffirming that AND building my confidence on the way. Feeling blessed to have stumbled upon Ali!

Prior to starting this course, my confidence level in Instructional Design was near zero. By lesson 2, not only was I confident in 1 area of Instructional Design, but ALL areas. As teachers, we do this type of work on a daily basis. Ali has taken what we do, and converted it into ID language.

As a veteran teacher looking to make a transition into a new field, I was extremely lost. I've been searching for advice for a couple of years, but never found any clear cut answers. I really had no idea what I would do once I left education. I wasn't even sure that my experience would translate into the business world. I stumbled across Ali's courses and was very intrigued by what I saw. I took some of her online quizzes and started FINALLY develop some sense of a plan. I listened to her podcast, and decided she was talking directly to me! I signed up for one of her courses, Find Your Next Dream Job, and my excitement started to really build. I knew there was a role for me out there. I was especially intrigued by what Ali had shared about instructional design, and knew it was an avenue I had to explore. A few weeks later, I signed up for the course "From Teacher to Instructional Design." I've begun to build a portfolio and get some real world experience. I'm taking my two real loves, education and technology, and using them to create elearning, blended learning, and training assets. I can see my skills growing and I know that with each part of the course I complete, I am redesigning my future. The courses I've taken through Teacher Transition is a real investment into my future, and I know it is well worth it!

For the past few years I have been wanting to get my feet wet in instructional design. I didn't have a clear picture of what instructional design was but I knew I liked developing lesson material. I was hesitant about even applying for an instructional design position because I wasn't sure if I could speak their lingo or if I had the skills they needed. After working in the Teacher Transition course I have a clearer understanding of what instructional design entails, I am more confident in how to communicate with others in the field and I feel more confident in scheduling future interviews. There are so many different avenues out there to learn how to become an instructional designer. I'm so glad I chose this route. It doesn't burn a hole in your wallet, is self-paced and filled with practice, offers courses that are intentional and effective... what better way to showcase instructional design mastery than by creating this amazing course for ID learners! There's a support group on Facebook, resume and cover letter help, calls to connect and learn from Ali and guest speakers and through Q&A talks. You are not left to your own devices and have Ali and course members available to learn from and bounce around ideas with. I could go on and on and am still surprised I found such a great course after scrolling through so many that just didn't offer what I am getting here. Thank you Teacher Transition!

So structured and well organized. Ali is accessible and responsive as well as professional. It's a true bargain!

Ali is incredibly professional, responsive, and encouraging. The course is well-organized and has been an enjoyable challenge pushing me in a new direction. I especially love it because I have been able to get so many individual questions answered. I highly recommend this course for any teacher considering a transition into the design industry!

It's clear immediately that Ali has been in the shoes of a teacher transitioning to a new role - and been in a job that she knows she needs to move from but it's so hard to know how to make the transition sometimes! She gets it and has been there. Just knowing that we have someone leading the class who has had such a familiar experience and SUCCEEDED makes me feel hope and encouragement. (And by the way - the materials she's designed and the look of this are fantastic and a great example. She CLEARLY knows what she's doing! She walks you through things in a way that I hope to model one day as well!)

I am learning so much. I can't believe I have had all these skills all along and just didn't know how to use them. I like how this takes you through the steps at your own pace.
